The recently devised ÖGV handicap course provides a variety of advantages to get into golf. The training is innovative, holistic and can be tailored to suit your own personal skills.
On the way to your ÖGV handicap there are two training levels to be completed:
Stage 1 – Course permit (‘PE’)
The course permit is attained upon positive completion of a taster or handicap course and entitles you to play on the practice course (depending on availability). It is not possible to take part in tournaments, or to play on other courses.
Stage 2 – ÖGV handicap
The ÖGV handicap test comprises checking basic playing skills, speed of play and safety on the course. The theory part is a rules and etiquette test. Passing the test means taking the ‘Handicap Challenge’ – a 9-hole Stableford tournament – the result of which determines your start handicap. When you take out membership, the ÖGV licence entitles you to play at any facility.
Ideal course for beginners with no previous knowledge. This 120-minute course for beginner golfers provides an initial basis for the ÖGV handicap course.
